What are aura points?
Aura points are the internet's way of keeping score on something that was never supposed to have a score: how effortlessly cool you are under pressure. The idea grew out of gaming culture, where "farming" means grinding for resources, and collided with the older notion of a person's aura — the vibe you give off without saying a word. Put together, you get a running tally where smooth, unbothered reactions earn points and visible panic loses them. Trip in public and glare at the ground? That costs you. Catch a falling glass without looking up from your phone? Massive gains.
The one iron law of aura is the effortlessness paradox: the moment people can tell you are trying to look cool, the coolness evaporates. Aura can only be farmed by someone who looks like they don't care about farming it. This calculator takes that law seriously — pick too many try-hard answers and the judge will notice.
How the Aura Calculator works
You start at 1,000 aura, the baseline for an average human being. Twelve everyday situations follow — the phone ringing in a silent room, the wave that wasn't for you, the crush who hasn't replied in six hours. Each reaction moves your total up or down, anywhere from −1,500 to +2,500. Some answers look clever but are secretly desperate; choose three or more of those and you'll be hit with a Caught Farming penalty of −2,000, stamped in red on your final card. At the end, the ManyMeow cat judge issues your score, your tier, and a one-line verdict you can save or send to whoever needs humbling.
The six aura tiers
Aura Debt means your score dropped below zero — you don't just lack aura, you owe some. NPC covers the scripted middle. Side Character is respectable; you're essential to someone else's story. Main Character means the camera has started following you. Sigma is for the genuinely unbothered. And Final Boss, above 17,000, is the tier people will assume you made up — screenshot it or it didn't happen.
How to gain (and lose) aura
Gaining aura is mostly subtraction: fewer explanations, fewer double texts, fewer glances to check who saw. Commit fully to whatever just happened, even if what just happened was you walking into a glass door. Losing aura is easier — narrating your own coolness, correcting a barista at volume, or unsending a message all leak points fast. If you want a higher score on a retake, don't memorize answers. Just imagine the version of you that genuinely does not care, and answer as them.
FAQ
Is my result stored anywhere?
No. Everything runs in your browser. The only place your score exists is on the card you save.
Can I challenge a friend?
Yes — the challenge button copies a link carrying your score. When your friend finishes the test through that link, they get a duel screen comparing the two of you.
Why did I get the Caught Farming stamp?
You picked three or more answers that were secretly try-hard moves. The judge respects the effortlessness paradox. The judge is a cat. The judge does not negotiate.
Is this scientific?
Absolutely not, and anyone claiming otherwise is farming aura as we speak.
